ENGAGING PRIVATE SECTOR FOR SPEED, SCALE AND STANDARDS
Skill Development has been given top priority by the Government of Punjab as it is considered to be one of the most critical enablers to enhance the current ecosystem for investments in the State. The state has taken proactive measures to provide state of the art infrastructure.
Punjab has an established base with a ready pool of technically skilled talent. These include 102 engineering colleges, 193 polytechnics and 369 ITI's which insure that the industry demand for talent in the State is met.
Existing Knowledge city in Mohali has presence of key institutes including Indian School of Business, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, etc. In addition to the above, Government of Punjab has been successfully facilitating the private player’s participation in setting up industry focused skill development centres in the State. Private players such as L&T, Tata, Toyota, Vardhman etc. have set up a full fledge training centres in Punjab.
